Turf
Turf boots have no studs at all. The outsole is a dense pattern of small rubber nubs, which grips by surface contact rather than by digging in.
Short-pile astroturf, sand-filled pitches and compacted outdoor courts
No studs. A dense pattern of small rubber nubs moulded across the whole outsole
What TF cleats are for
That makes them right for surfaces that will not accept a stud: older short-pile astroturf, sand-filled pitches, and the hard-packed ground of a public court.
They are also the most comfortable option for playing repeatedly on a hard surface. Nothing is pressing up into the sole of your foot, which is the usual complaint after an hour of five-a-side in the wrong boot.
- Older astroturf and sand-based pitches
- Small-sided and five-a-side outdoors
- Hard, compacted ground where studs cannot dig in
Natural grass matches. With no studs there is nothing to bite in, so you will slide on anything soft or wet.
